Brutality of Syrian Rebels

The Syrian rebels posed casually, standing over their prisoners with firearms pointed down at the shirtless and terrified men.

The prisoners, seven in all, were captured Syrian soldiers. Five were trussed, their backs marked with red welts. They kept their faces pressed to the dirt as the rebels’ commander recited a bitter revolutionary verse.

 “For fifty years, they are companions to corruption,” he said. “We swear to the Lord of the Throne, that this is our oath: We will take revenge.”

The moment the poem ended, the commander, known as “the Uncle,” fired a bullet into the back of the first prisoner’s head. His gunmen followed suit, promptly killing all the men at their feet.

This scene, documented in a video smuggled out of Syria a few days ago by a former rebel who grew disgusted by the killings, offers a dark insight into how many rebels have adopted some of the same brutal and ruthless tactics as the regime they are trying to overthrow. Um vídeo supostamente gravado em abril, divulgado há alguns dias por um ex-rebelde e trazido à tona nesta quinta-feira pelo The New York Times, mostra a execução de sete soldados leais a Bashar al-Assad por rebeldes sírios.

Os EUA lembram a organização C.O.N.T.R.O.L. só entram em atrapalhadas históricas. E o presidente é o agente 86, Get Smart. E KAOS é o mundo árabe. É a comedia satírica do agente 86.

Por acaso existe democracia no Oriente Médio? Os países ocidentais e países de maioria sunita (Turquia, Arábia Saudita, Quatar, etc) apoiam descaradamente os rebeldes fornecendo armamento. Os rebeldes utilizam como escudo e proteção as cidades e civis. Como pode o governo sírio combater os rebeldes sem atingir os civis? Os países ocidentais tem sua parcela de culpa nessa matança. Existe democracia no Afeganistão, Líbia, Iraque, Egito, etc.? E o governo eleito  egípcio foi derrubado pelos militares e houve  centenas mortos, e os países ocidentais ficaram calados. Por acaso a democracia egípcia funcionou?

Se analisarmos agora os conflitos existentes no Oriente Médio onde houve a inclusão forçada da democracia, os países estão bem? A democracia está matando tanto quanto os regimes anteriores. Segundo a ONU no auge da violência no Iraque morriam 3.000 pessoas por mês. Segundo estimativa de mortes de iraquianos  no conflito foi de 100 mil a 300 mil, não há uma estimativa correta.A hipocrisia prevalece nessa análise, não incluindo os Emirados Árabes, com uma falsa democracia e uma feroz ditadura da Arábia Saudita, que  municia o terrorismo. O terrorismo não estava no Iraque, Afeganistão, Líbia, é logo ali, na Arábia Saudita, país amigo do ocidente, que financeiramente mantém vivo o terrorismo internacional.
